Two Palestinians were shot and killed Friday following two separate alleged attacks near Ramallah.

In the first incident, a man identified as Abed al-Rahman al-Barghouthi, 27, was shot dead after allegedly attempting to stab an Israeli soldier near the village of Abud.

Ma’an News Agency reported that al-Barghouti was a U.S. citizen who had returned to the West Bank to get married. Ma’an was told by witnesses that he was walking home from his fiance’s house with his arms raised when he was shot and killed.

The main entrance to the village of Abud was sealed by Israeli forces following the incident.

Approximately one hour later, a Palestinian man, identified as Anas Bassam Hammad, was shot and killed near the Israeli settlement of Ofra in the Ramallah district, after he allegedly rammed his car into a group of Israeli soldiers.

At least 111 Palestinians and 19 Israelis have now been killed since Oct. 1.
