On the third day of Israel’s latest incursion on Gaza, which Israeli officials call “Operation Pillar of Defense”, the number of martyrs rose as air strikes continued to pound the coastal enclave.

Protests were called all over the West Bank cities. In Jenin the protesters headed towards the Jalama checkpoints, where Israeli occupation forces responded to the rocks thrown by Palestinian youth with heavy amounts of tear gas.

In Nablus, dozens of protesters made their way to Huwarra checkpoint, where occupation soldiers promptly arrested seven Palestinians. One young woman, Aya Adel Jheir, was also arrested after attempting to run away.

A central demonstration was called for by leftist, Islamic, and national parties in the commercial capital city of Ramallah. Around 300 protesters converged on Clock  Square and chanted in support of the resistance and their brethren in Gaza. In the northwest of Ramallah, hundreds more protesters made their way to Ofer prison where Israeli occupation soldiers fired a barrage of tear gas canisters, rubber bullets, and live ammunition, resulting in tens of people needing treatment for suffocation and light injuries. In one case, a tear gas canister was fired directly at a PMRS ambulance, injuring the driver and badly wounding a female volunteer medic in the head after she fell out of the vehicle.
