A 24-year-old Palestinian woman was shot dead by Israeli military forces at a checkpoint in Qalqiliya after she allegedly attempted to commit a stabbing attack Monday morning.

According to Ynet news, the woman, identified as Rasha Muhammad Oweisi, was carrying a note in her bag stating: "I'm doing this with a clear head. I can't bear what I see and I can't suffer anymore."

The note also contained an apology to her family.

Israel's Defense Ministry said Oweisi approached cars at a military checkpoint north of the illegal Alfei Menashe settlement south of Qalqiliya, Haaretz reported.

Israeli forces reportedly asked the woman to stop advancing towards vehicles and fired warning shots in the air.

She then drew a knife from her bag and Israeli soldiers shot her dead on the spot.

No Israelis were injured.

On Sunday an Israeli security guard shot a Palestinian woman after she stabbed him at the entrance to the illegal Israeli settlement of Beitar Illit, near the Gush Etzion settlement bloc in the southern occupied West Bank.

The woman was identified by her family as Hilwa Salim Darwish, from Husan village west of Bethlehem.

While Israeli media initially reported that the Palestinian woman was shot and killed, the Israeli liaison department later said she was in moderate condition.

The security guard was lightly injured during the incident, an Israeli army spokesperson said.

Security footage of the attack appeared on social media shortly after the incident showing a woman pulling a knife from her purse and lunging at a security guard.

Earlier that day, another Palestinian, identified as Sulaiman Aqel Muhammad Shahin, 22, from al-Bireh City in Ramallah, was shot dead near the Tapuah Junction south of Nablus after allegedly ramming a car into three Israelis.

Three Israelis were injured in the alleged attack, and a fourth Israeli was shot and injured in the leg when a bullet aimed at the Palestinian driver ricocheted during the incident.

Since the beginning of October, 77 Palestinians have been killed, the majority of whom were shot dead by Israeli forces during alleged, attempted, and actual attacks on Israeli military and civilians.
