Infrastructure belonging to al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, was damaged during Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip Wednesday.

Ma’an News Agency reported that two sites used by al-Qassam Brigades for training were targeted. The strikes caused damage to nearby homes in the western Gaza Strip.

An area known as “Brigade 13,” was also targeted by airstrikes in the central Gaza strip.

No injuries were reported from the airstrikes.

Haaretz reported that the airstrikes were launched after a rocket fired from Gaza exploded near the fence which separates the Gaza Strip from Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces Spokesman tweeted on Wednesday that two Hamas sites in northern Gaza were targeted “in response to Gaza rocket attack.”

The airstrikes come the day after Israeli forces shot and injured a Palestinian youth with live fire during clashes in al-Bureij refugee camp in the Gaza Strip Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, Israeli forces opened fire at Palestinian fishermen off the coast of Beit Lahiya in the Gaza Strip. No injuries were reported.
