A Palestinian woman has been detained after allegedly attempting to stab an Israeli soldier at a military checkpoint in the Jordan Valley area of the occupied West Bank Saturday.

According to the Ma’an News, an Israeli army spokesperson confirmed a “suspect approached a soldier with a knife in hand” before being “apprehended” and taken for questioning.

Two Palestinians were killed after injuring Israeli soldiers in separate "car ramming" attacks on Friday.

In the first incident, a Palestinian man was shot dead in East Jerusalem after allegedly running over two Israeli soldiers.

According to the Israeli police, the man, identified as Fadi Khasib, 25, from Ramallah, was shot dead by an Israeli settler on the scene.

Hours later another Palestinian was shot and killed in Beit Ummar, north of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, following an alleged vehicular attack which injured six Israeli soldiers.

A number of attacks have been carried out on Israeli military and civilians since the beginning of last month, the majority in occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Saturday’s attack comes following a week of violence across the West Bank, that left 13 Palestinians and two Israelis dead since Sunday alone.
