A Palestinian was shot dead this morning near the Beit Einun junction, northeast of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, after he allegedly attempted to stab an Israeli soldier.

The Palestinian, identified by his father as Muayyad Awni Jabbarin, 20 , allegedly attempted to attack an IDF soldier, according to IDF spokesman Peter Lerner. The IDF responded immediately by opening fire.

According to Ma’an News Agency, Israeli forces prevented medical services from entering the scene to treat the Palestinian who was shot.

Clashes erupted in the area between Palestinians and the Israeli army, forcing the closure of a main road.

This incident marks the fourth Palestinian shot this week at the Beit Einun junction in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron. Two of  those shot and killed were reported to be minors. All allegedly attempted to stab Israeli soldiers, according to Israeli military sources. No soldier was reported to be injured this week.

Since the beginning of Oct. 2014, more than 150 Palestinians have been killed in occupied Palestinian territory. Twenty Israelis were killed in the same period.
